Introducing…. the incredibles!!

My incredibly sweet and talented wife Cindy and our 3 daughters: Rylie (incredible tall) Rhayana (incredibly funny) Rowyn (incredibly a miniature version of her mom)

Describe yourself in one sentence

The guy you would be cool with spending a few hours with if you had to be trapped inside a refrigeration unit in the back of your favorite restaurant. There’s a story that goes something like this scenario actually… ask Cindy, she can laugh now… it’s been a few years.

Do you have any qualifications to do your job?

Yes

What are they?

Oh, I was educated at Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, CA. Been married since July 18, 1998 to the same wonderful girl I dated throughout college life – Licensed as a minister by Southern California District of the Assembly of God denomination… yep, I believe in a that miracle and Holy Spirit stuff that you’re parents warned you about- Been doing ministry now on a getting paid status for 14 years now- not much to show for it in the bank… if you were wondering

You live in the Central Valley of California – why?

I love it here. We are close enough to some of our favorite destinations that we get to travel a bit as a family. the extended family is close enough to visit regularly. I live near my grandparents (what an amazing gift). My girls love farms and agriculture and the environment that the valley affords us. I can actually live on the income that I bring home. Most of all… we love the people!

A favorite moment?

Rylie told us one night recently that she wanted to grow up to be a pastor or worship leader… yep that was a good night

Do you have friends?

Heck yeah I have friends!! I believe that God has not only called me to pastoral ministry but to incarnational and relational ministry. Really, whether I was a pastor or not, I’d hang out with most of the same people we see now… we are blessed to serve and even more blessed to have some very deep relationships in and out of the church in which we serve

You used to be competitive… what do you do now to, you know- get it out?

I won’t openly take offense to the thought that I’m not still incredibly competitive… just challenge me. I love to work out and study and do geeky stuff on computers- i like the challenges of being well rounded. I also coach competitive sports as much as I can- High School Football, my daughter’s soccer teams, my wife as she does just about anything around the house… not always a good idea BTW

If you could be sure to do one thing before you die

Kind of a morbid one there… I’d make sure that my kids knew that I did the best I knew how, to be the same person day in and day out with them, to live life as deeply and as honestly as I could each moment, to lead them in to the same saving knowledge of Jesus Christ that my parents gave me as an inheritance here on earth and in eternity
